The Top 10 Must Have’s For Your Next Camping Trip

Whether you’re 9 years old or 90 years old, camping offers a peaceful, fun, enjoyable experience for all ages to enjoy. Maybe you’re reading this and you’re a beginner and you know absolutely nothing about camping. Maybe you know more about camping then we do. You can bring a variety of items with you on your next camping trip, but today we’re going to cover the top 10 must haves.

#1 Tent

This is a pretty obvious top choice. Yep… pretty much self explanatory. Do you want to get rained on? Nope. Do you want animals to have free access to you? Nope. Do you want to freeze all night…I think you know where we are going with this.

#2 Sleeping Bag

Floors are NOT always comfortable. This isnt your front yard where the grass is soft and its fun to lay on. Sometimes your tent will be on gravel, or super hard ground. Avoid the uncomfort of a stiff back in the mornings and make sure to grab this on your way out the door.

#3 Cooler/Food Storage

I don’t know about you, but we take food pretty seriously. Like… we like to eat at least 3x a day. That means we need to have a place to keep all this food. Plus, who doesn’t like a nice hotdog cooked by the flame of a fire. We certainly do.

#4 Lantern/Flashlight

It’s 2 am and you have to go to the bathroom. You climb out of your tent, it’s pitch dark, you reach back to grab your flashlight… Wait… it’s not there. You forgot it. And now you have to walk half a mile to the nearest restroom. Is it worth it? Do you go back to sleep or do you curse yourself softly as you make your way into the great unknown…

#5 Toilet Paper

TOILET PAPER, TOILET PAPER, TOIL…. okay… you get the hint. But seriously. Don’t be that guy. Don’t be the guy who forgets and has to walk around and ask each and every person for toilet paper because you’re not allowed to return without any. Hygeine. 

#6 Firewood

First off, who doesn’t like a great fire? With smores and stories told, completely warm and happy around friends and family. Second off… it’s dark. The last thing you want to do is try and get around your campsite without having any light. Build a fire folks. 

#7 Folding Chairs

Okay, so this one might be on here because we’re lazy. We don’t want to sit on the ground, do you? Nah, I didn’t think so. This is convenient for everyone. 

#8 Pocket Knife

Pocket knives have so many uses I don’t think I can even begin to start. That would be a whole other list in itself… But I think you got the point. (Pun intended)

#9 Blankets

gloves…long sleeve shirts… layers…I know we don’t always go camping when its 40 degrees out – but there’s the times that we do. It’s freezing and your significant other forgot the blankets. How about you skip the inevitable arguing and put it on the list!

#10 Backpack

It’s important to be able to have a way to carry around all your important belongings. Whether you’re going hiking and need key items such as water or matches or maybe you just dont feel safe enough to leave items unattended in your tent.

As I stated above, there’s so many things that you can bring along with you on your next big camping trip. This list is only covering what we believe the Top 10 should be. This list can vary depending on who you are! 

For some of you die hard coffee drinkers, that might be within your top 3. Or maybe you can’t live without the sound of a fan putting you to sleep – so you make that your number 6.
